Intercontinental Alternative Networks

They are non-commercial organizations that aim to encourage free and independent information. These networks have become a significant part of democratic media ideas. Besides offering a model pertaining to independent media, they will demonstrate the way the media system can be implemented in a global context.

At first, the projects had been localized. But they began to widen and eventually grew to include a wide variety of media. During the 1990s, these multimedia projects began spreading all over the world. By relating around nation-wide boundaries, they began to grow in size and influence. Some even started to be multinational companies.

The network has grown to feature many establishments and individuals devoted to democratization and press flexibility. Members range from the World Loan provider, Stockholm Overseas Peace Groundwork Start, and the EL Environment Program. This network is a member of the Self-Sufficient Advancement Expo, which is one of the greatest self-sufficient production expos in the world.

International solution networks will be part of an evergrowing citizen-driven movement. Since an active, home town movement, that they represent a viable alternative to the old, dominant ability structures. Rather than relying on the original power constructions, these non-commercial organizations use innovative ways to resolve pressing concerns.

International option networks will be characterized by the lack of central administration and the close marriage with social networking. They often times do not have specialized resources , nor have personnel with specific expertise. Whilst these factors may limit their capability to function, they will nonetheless show the potential of the free and independent multimedia system.
